Nicklaus Design Golf Course re-opens at Grupo Vidanta Resort in Nayarit, Mexico

(NAYARIT, Mexico) - When it opened a decade ago, the Nayar Vidanta Golf Course in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico was regarded as one of the country's absolute best. Now after a thorough four-year renovation by the renowned Nicklaus Design Group, this stunning layout is quite likely to gain even higher acclaim.

Situated between the Pacific Ocean and the meandering Ameca River and with the Sierra Madre Mountains serving as a spectacular backdrop, the course is a joy to play for the higher handicappers while still being a stern test for players of the highest caliber. Golfers will find room to roam off the tee, but approach shots require a tad more precision thanks to seven shimmering lakes and plenty of strategically-placed bunkers. A keen putting touch comes in handy to navigate the perfectly-manicured greens.

If it's possible to designate a signature hole when all are worthy of consideration it would be the par four 13th which stretches to 426 yards from the back tees. With a lake to the left, a waste area protecting the right side and a prevailing wind that's generally in the golfer's face, par is always a good score.

Adding even more to the unforgettable Nayar Vidanta golf experience is a clubhouse with dining service, a lighted practice facility for fine-tuning the skills well after dark, a putting green, new golf carts with GPS yardage systems and both Cobra and Titleist top-of-the-line rental clubs.

"We are very excited with how the golf course has turned out after these extensive renovations," said Jesus Torres, managing director of Vidanta Golf. "Our objective as a company is to offer world class golf at our renowned resorts and the Nicklaus Design Group has helped us to achieve that goal."
