Golf to End Cancer Embraced by Industry at PGA Show

(BALTIMORE, MD) - Golf to End Cancer (G2EC), a Marathon of Miracles nonprofit program, exhibited at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. Attendees visiting their booth at the show and their tent at Demo Day enjoyed massages, Marathon of Miracles all-natural energy bars, book signings by G2EC Founder and motivational author A.J. Ali, and information on G2EC programs like Miracle Wellness Days and the new G2EC Putting Challenge.

"I've been attending the PGA Merchandise Show for 28 years straight and I've never seen a more positive response than the one we received for Golf To End Cancer," said G2EC Executive Director Ed Woronicz, a 32-year PGA member who lost his wife Karen to breast cancer in 2010. "I believe people can sense that this isn't just business as usual for us. We're here to help families stay healthy, while also helping to grow the game of golf. The response has been overwhelming."

Some of the positive responses included:
* Dozens of industry leaders such as the PGA's recently retired CEO Joe Steranka, TV hosts from The Golf Channel and The Back 9 Network, and professional golfers including Paula Creamer, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Doug Sanders, Chip Beck and others are appearing in "I Golf To End Cancer" videos that can be viewed on the G2EC You Tube channel and Facebook page.

* The G2EC Putting Challenge, designed to support the PGA's 'Get Golf Ready' program, was announced at the show and dozens of golf companies are in talks to provide sponsor support. "The G2EC Putting Challenge is destined to become a huge fundraising and wellness education tool," said Ali. "I'm excited about the grassroots nature of the Putting Challenge, which will attract experienced golfers and novices alike for a fun experience that will have meaning. We will also be employing PGA members and others throughout the country to manage these Challenge events, adding to golf's economy."

* G2EC unveiled a $99 annual VIP membership that awards benefits to members such as logo items, discounts on golf, VIP events and much more.

* The G2EC Marathon, scheduled for June 21, will feature hundreds of golfers playing 36 holes or more at golf courses all over the United States. The Marathon, already featuring NFL Hall of Famer Chris Doleman and other celebrities, picked up a strong endorsement and commitment to play from former Washington Redskin and current Director of Golf at Desert Mountain Golf Club in Arizona, Mike Scully.
