Boys & Girls Club Dedicated to LPGA Champ Natalie Gulbis

(LAS VEGAS, Nev.) - The Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson (BGCH) named one of its newest partner clubs after the popular professional golfer and Las Vegas resident Natalie Gulbis. Gulbis, a long time supporter of BGCH, became actively involved four years ago when it re-branded its annual golf tournament as the Natalie Gulbis Golf Classic (www.bgchevents.org/golf). The successful tournament has raised more than $200,000 in net proceeds for BGCH in its first three years.

The Natalie Gulbis Boys & Girls Club, which serves more than 250 kids a year, is a stand-alone Club with a large game room, teen center and an information technology center.  As a way to economically serve more children, BGCH entered into a partnership with Nevada H.A.N.D. in early 2012 to operate on-site Boys & Girls Clubs at some of its affordable housing communities. Apache Pines was the first partnership property, opening in February 2012.  The partnership expanded in January 2013 with the opening of the Silver Pines Boys & Girls Club.

The Natalie Gulbis Boys & Girls Club will provide valuable programs and initiatives for its members including the PGA Sports Academy program, which introduces youth to the sport of golf and its lifelong benefits. The program combines golf skills and physical fitness in high energy activities that focus on play, as well as instruction.

“This is a very special day for Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson and we are honored to officially announce this great partnership,” said Ken Rubeli, executive director of Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson. “Natalie has already made a tremendous impact in the lives of youth in the Las Vegas area and her commitment and support will help shape a brighter future for our community.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson helps youth reach their potential by providing essential tools through daily creative, fun and educational programs at its own clubs and several partner locations in Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Southern Highlands and Summerlin. www.bgchenderson.org
