Los Angeles Clippers Coach and Golf Advocate Doc Rivers Next Guest on Feherty, Tuesday, Dec. 2

Rivers Shares His Love for Golf, Life-Altering Events and His Front-Row Seat to the Racial Controversy that Rocked the Los Angeles Clippers Organization

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – On the season’s penultimate episode of Feherty, basketball great and golf lover Glenn “Doc” Rivers explains how events of his life uniquely prepared him to cope with the most bizarre racial scandal in recent history. The Rivers interview on Feherty, next to air following tonight’s episode featuring PGA TOUR pro Zach Johnson, premieres Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 10 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.Emmy-nominated Host David Feherty travels to Los Angeles for the episode, which offers an eye-opening conversation about golf and some of the life-altering events of the 1988 NBA All-Star player, 2000 NBA Coach of the Year, 2008 NBA Champion as head coach of the Boston Celtics, and current head coach and president of Basketball Operations for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.

Some of the topics discussed in the episode include: the words of wisdom Rivers received from his Marquette University coach Hank Raymonds about the challenges of his interracial relationship with his future wife, Kristen; the arsonist attack on his San Antonio, Texas, home and his choice to protect his family by moving forward with his life; his take on why he thinks lack of team chemistry has been a major reason for the U.S.A.’s recent slide in Ryder Cup competition; and why he thinks golf can be a great relaxation activity for NBA players. Rivers also comments on his role as organizational healer following former Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling’s racial gaffes that created negative headlines around the world.

The season finale of Feherty will air on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. ET with guest Dan Patrick, co-host of NBC’s Football Night in America and host of the nationally syndicated Dan Patrick Show. Feherty originally debuted in June 2011 as the most-watched original series in Golf Channel history. David Feherty, Emmy nominated this year for Outstanding Sports Personality, has gone one-on-one with celebrities across golf, sports and entertainment, including former President Bill Clinton, basketball Hall-of-Famers Bill Russell and Charles Barkley, actors Don Cheadle and Samuel L.
