PGA TOUR Superstore Bucks Trend with Expansion for New Stores

Golf Retailer Signs Three Leases for New Experiential Golf Retail Stores;
Plans for new locations in Glendale (Phoenix), Hilton Head and Jacksonville

(ATLANTA, GA) – Leading golf equipment and apparel retailer PGA TOUR Superstore continues to show signs it is bucking a retail trend by announcing the signing of leases for three new stores in 2017.

With a successful interactive retail model in place, PGA TOUR Superstore recently acquired a Sports Authority location in Glendale, Arizona, set to open in January 2017, and is also planning new stores in Hilton Head, South Carolina (for April 2017) and in Jacksonville, Florida (later next year). This November, PGA TOUR Superstore will also open a 45,500 square foot store in Woodland TX, its 27th store (just outside of Houston).

“There are more than 26 million golfers in America and there is a demand for the experience we provide,” said Dick Sullivan, President & CEO of PGA TOUR Superstore. “We have built a retail model that is second to none and we’re eager to bring our unmatched retail experience to golf-centric markets.”

Glendale represents the company’s fifth Arizona location (joining Chandler, North Scottsdale, Scottsdale and Tucson), while Hilton Head represents their third store in South Carolina (joining Myrtle Beach and South Myrtle Beach) and Jacksonville will be the fourth PGA TOUR Superstore Florida location (joining Delray Beach, Naples and Orlando).

“With close to 30 percent of golfers playing 100 million rounds a year, our aim is to get these players through our doors and provide them with an experience they will relish and want to revisit. Our brand has been well received by golfers of all levels but particularly avids so expanding our presence in Houston, Phoenix, Hilton Head and Jacksonville is at the core of our growth.”

PGA TOUR Superstore’s model for success has shown consistent growth serving more than seven million customers annually. Each store is staffed with PGA of America teaching professionals and houses up to 14 state-of-the-art swing simulators and hitting bays, and an expansive putting green along with an in-house club making and repair facility to provide a unique, interactive experience to golf enthusiasts of all levels. They offer the largest selection of golf clubs, balls, accessories, apparel, footwear and tennis of any retailer in the U.S.
