Clinton Plays Genoa Lakes Golf Course in Carson Valley Ahead of the Celebrity Golf Tournament

(CARSON VALLEY, Nevada) — The 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, took a detour to the legendary Carson Valley golf courses of northern Nevada ahead of the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament taking place at Edgewood Tahoe now through Sunday, July 16. While the golf tournament draws sports and entertainment celebrities, political figures also make their way to the annual event. The stop over Wednesday, July 12 for a day of golf was a welcome surprise not only for the course, but the community.

Genoa Lakes Golf Club is a member of The Divine 9 with nine courses located under 40 minutes apart in the Carson Valley and Carson City area. The course, co-designed by PGA Champion Peter Jacobsen and John Harbottle III, is a links-style course with rolling fairways that meet head-on with the eastern slopes of the breathtaking Sierra Nevada. Intermixed with lush wetlands and the winding Carson River, water adjoins 14 of the holes at the two courses – the Lakes Course and the Ranch Course – making long, straight drives the best approach to tackle either course.
