Youth on Course Expands 41 Percent Since January 2017

Minnesota, Wisconsin and Miami Valley (OH) Golf Associations Fuel Recent Growth

(PEBBLE BEACH, CALIF.) — Youth on Course — the organization renowned for providing affordable golf access – has grown 41 percent since January 2017, adding five new participating states and regions.

Youth on Course partnered with the Georgia State Golf Association and Golf House of Kentucky in February. July brought alliances with Minnesota, Wisconsin and Miami Valley (OH) Golf Associations. Youth on Course now operates in 17 states and regions, providing youth with access to golf for $5 or less at hundreds of courses throughout the nation.

Born in Northern California, Youth on Course subsidizes greens fees to remove cost as a barrier to entry for potential lifetime golfers. The organization strives to be in all 50 states soon.

“Our goal is to inspire the 2.9 million golfers ages 6-17 who are starting the game earlier in life,” said Youth on Course Executive Director Adam Heieck. “Thanks to our increasing state and local partners, we are making a significant difference in young people's lives and strengthening golf."

Youth on Course has drawn 8,000 new members this year, bringing total membership to more than 25,000 people ages 6-18. Youth on Course members can play at 600-plus partner courses, a growing number as new states and regions participate.

Youth on Course has subsidized 550,000-plus rounds, including 48,000 year-to-date.  The organization has awarded $1.2 million in college scholarships to deserving members, including $315,000 this month. Alumni of the organization’s internship and caddie programs have become collegiate golfers and productive industry members.

Funding support for Youth on Course and exposure drive the organization’s growth across America. Golf Channel and Golf Digest showcased the program as an essential bridge between youth instruction and consistent play throughout adulthood. NBA MVP Steph Curry is a vocal ambassador of the program.
